[2008/04/03 15:51] Taggert Alsop: I am a faculty fellow for IDIAA which is the art institute that developed the island we are on right now
[2008/04/03 15:52] Taggert Alsop: i helped to develop the installation to our left which is an interpretation of an interactive RL sound installation

[2008/04/03 15:54] Taggert Alsop: The development started as a project that focused on the development of an in world machinema course

[2008/04/03 15:55] Taggert Alsop: out of that concept came the inclination to also develop campus, the bell tower, the building to our right and the large library are all
staples of Ball State University

[2008/04/03 16:06] Taggert Alsop: blackboard is an online eductional tool, they offered a grant for the development of a cirriculum that could talk between a virtual world
and itself, this came after we had started to explore SL and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to go ahead with the machinema cirriculum

[2008/04/03 16:07] Taggert Alsop: he had a cinema course that he designed in RL and used it as the launching pad for his machinema cirriculum in SL

[2008/04/03 16:10] Taggert Alsop: it is more accessible, more developed, and has a larger community

[2008/04/03 16:13] Taggert Alsop: Thats a good question, i don’t have a clear answer for you there as far as events go, we do want to re-work the installation a bit more
[2008/04/03 16:14] Taggert Alsop: as far as goal we are hoping to have the machinema course available to students and distance education learners for credit
[2008/04/03 16:14] You: Is this studio open for exhibit to the public or only for students and University personel?
[2008/04/03 16:15] Taggert Alsop: The space we are currently in is public, but the classrooms and studios are private and secure
