Virtual Worlds ’08 symposium [update]

 Collectively we hope to sketch a clear picture of the bussiness and society opportunities of virtual worlds. Second Life is the example for the moment. From a perspective of economy, community and society a vision of the future is the ultimate goal of this convention.

Gezamenlijk hopen wij op 8 Februari 2008 een helder beeld te schetsen van de zakelijke en maatschappelijke mogelijkheden van virtuele werelden. Hierbij is Second Life exemplarisch. Vanuit maatschappelijke, zakelijke en sociale invalshoek is een toekomstvisie het ultieme doel van het symposium.

What was lacking this day. in our humble opinion, was a central panel debate, with a possibility of audience interaction.

So no consensus vision about the future of virtual worlds / metaverses was established. A missed chance unfortunately…
